LEGAL TERMINOLOGY

Consistent terminology across documents

Legal documents often use defined terms and repeated wording that needs to remain consistent throughout the text. We can work with client terminology, previous translations and other reference material across the project.

  • Defined terms

Contractual and legal terms can be kept consistent throughout the document or document set.

  • Previous translations

Approved earlier versions can be used as reference where appropriate.

  • Terminology lists

Client-approved terms can be recorded and shared with the linguistic team.

  • Client feedback

Approved corrections and preferences can be added to the resources used for later work.

DOCUMENT SETS

Working across related legal documents

Legal projects may include several related files that use the same names, definitions and clauses. The translation process can be organised so these elements remain consistent across the complete set.

  • Contracts and schedules

Main agreements and supporting schedules can be handled within the same project.

  • Repeated clauses

Approved translations can be reused where the same wording appears again.

  • Defined names

Parties, products, organisations and other defined references can be kept consistent.

  • Multiple languages

Several target languages can be coordinated under one project schedule.

SCOPE

Language services for legal content

VIAX provides translation, linguistic review and related language services for legal content. Legal advice, legal representation and regulatory advice are separate professional services and are not part of the language-service scope of this website.

Tell us about your legal documents.

Send us the languages, document types, files and deadline. If you already have approved terminology, previous translations or reference material, include those as well. We’ll review the project and come back to you with the recommended process, timing and cost.
